A few days ago, out of impulse, I photographed Brandon & Ben - two young chaps that are very much into their streetwear.
Brandon: Supreme S Logo Cap, Supreme Fuck Em All Pullover, Dickies 873’s, Vans Sk8 Hi
Ben: Supreme X TNF steep tech fleeced sweatshirt, Supreme motion tee, Carhartt master pants II, CDG converseCareer and aspirations:
Brandon: An apprentice doing a customer service course in retail and would also like to pursue fashion as a career.
Ben: Currently a student studying graphics design at college, aspires to go to university and get a degree in this subject, and expand from there.
I wanted to get the gist of what it's like to be a young teen that carries a distinctive connection with what they wear so I spoke to them briefly about fashion, their style and how important it is to them.
Streetwear is a huge part of their interests. They spend most of their money on the latest fads or shall I say, "the newest heats". Both are fans of popular brands like Supreme, Comme des Garcons, Bape, etc. They mentioned that they get most of their inspirations from social media.
Fashion is fast evolving and faster than it's ever been, I believe. It is just understandable why young people like Brandon and Ben built this high admiration for street-based fashion. There are a lot of platforms readily available to get inspirations from these days. We thank the internet! Just like these two, if you are a sedated follower of online streetwear communities such as hypebeast, highsnobeity, the basement, complex, etc. I could imagine it being hard to steer away from all the hype.
